Consultation

Each portrait is a canvas to interpret and design something unique. Deborah begins the process with an initial consultation. Here the artist and her clients meet for the first time, rapport is established and a mutual understanding of the nature of the portrait is developed. In addition, the content of the portrait is also determined through discussion of lighting, color, clothing, props, where your portrait will be displayed, how to choose a location that will harmonize with your home, and so on. The possibilities are endless…

The actual portrait session is where all of preplanning comes together for the execution of the desired portraits. Deborah schedules her sessions allowing two hours with your child. The average session lasts anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Deborah’s constant concentration on each child makes her photographic creations truly real expressions of love and warmth that touch the heart.

The last of the three parts of Deborah’s Portraiture Process is the presentation and selection of the created images. Prior to meeting, photographs are meticulously examined and analyzed by Deborah. Samples are created based on the initial consultation to illustrate final portrait possibilities. This proves to be invaluable for the customer who is considering hand colored or watercolor portraits. Images are presented approximately 10 days after the portrait session and Deborah allows as much time as is necessary for the selection process.
